Thankfully we've got the lovely Naomi Sheridan from @sheridanpartyof4 sharing some great ideas for vegan snacks this summer. They are simple, healthy and most importantly delicious! Be sure to check out her website for more details about how her vegan family of four experience their lives and adventures together.
Summertime is all about enjoying the outdoors! My kids and I like to spend as much time by the pool, at playgrounds or running through the sprinklers as possible! All that running around in the hot sun makes for hungry kids!! Today I am going to share my go to vegan snacks and treats to keep your kids fueled and happy all summer long!!!
Fruit, fruit and more fruit!
My kids love fruit all year round, but they inhale it in the summertime. My son especially loves cherries, he will eat a whole 3 lb bag in one day! Bananas, oranges and apples are great to throw in your diaper bag when you are on the go! It’s also a fun activity to go berry or peach picking in the summer with little ones!
Popsicles are perfect for those extra hot summer days! Not only do kids love eating them but they also enjoying making them! I will just use some of my kids favorite juice or even some leftover smoothie to make wonderful popsicles that are healthier than store bought ones! You can even get really creative and add slices of fruit in them!
My kids love raisins! They are the perfect on the go snack! I like to keep a few little boxes of them in the diaper bag for anytime the kids need a snack when we are out and about!
Since everyone is so concerned about where vegans get their protein from, I figured I would add nuts to the list. They are a great source of protein and help keep your kids fueled on long summer days! My kids' favorite are cashews!
Hummus has always been a big part of my kids' diet. My son used to eat spoonfuls of it as a baby. Now they love to dip pita, chips or carrots in it. It’s a great snack to pull out while on a blanket at a summer concert or sitting by the pool!
Fruit leathers are a great pick me up for kids. I always keep one in my pocket for when someone scrapes their knee, a bandaid and a fruit leather can be magic!
Pretzels tend to be our go-to car snack in the summer. Kids love them and they aren’t too messy, well of course they still end up everywhere in the car seat though.
So there you have it, those are the 7 snacks that I will be toting around all summer long with my two kids. What are your favorite summer snacks for your kids? Do you have any amazing summer plans? Have a happy and playful summer!!!
Thank you so much Naomi for these easy snack ideas. We love that they are all readily available and easy to prep items!
