Valentine's Day Book Picks for Kids

One of our favorite ways to share quality time together with our kids is to snuggle up on a Stuff 'n Sit with a good book. We've rounded up our most loved Valentine's Day themed books for kids of different ages.

Board Books

Love Monster

This cute little board book tells the story of a 'slightly funny looking' monster who fears he may never find love because he is different. With fun and engaging illustrations, our little readers enjoy the comical additions to the story. It is a simple story but one with a very important message.

Guess How Much I Love You

This darling exchange of never ending ways to show love between Little and Big Nutbrown Hare is such a classic. It really does have the cute-factor, as well as being a great way to create interactive dialogue with your child about expressing their emotions. We especially love this big board book version for the whole family to enjoy together.

Llama Llama I Love You

We love how the Llama Llama books are short and sweet, with rhyming text and beautiful illustrations. This Valentine's special involves little Llama showing his friends and family how much he loves them with hand-made heart cards. We love using this book to inspire a fun family Valentine's Day card making session.

Picture Books

CoCo Chanel, Little People Big Dreams

We're big fans of the Little People, Big Dreams range, but this one about CoCo Chanel captured our heart for Valentine's Day. A wonderful story about a courageous woman from humble beginnings who built a culture-changing fashion empire; it inspires young readers to embrace celebrating beauty and big dreams!

I Am Enough

This beautiful, lyrical story celebrates that we are all here for a purpose and we are each enough, just as we are. It illustrates the importance of respect and being kind to others! We love how this encourages a conversation with our kids about kindness - which is what Valentine's Day is all about after all.

How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You?

Even dinosaurs love giving hugs and kisses! Little ones will love this light-hearted story about all the ways that dinosaurs say I love you - despite their mischievousness!

Chapter Books

A Little Princess

A classic childhood favorite, A Little Princess tells the story of a remarkable little girl, Sara, who even through adversity, never loses sight of kindness and friendship. We love the idea of reading this with our children and then watching the movie as a family!

Junie B. Jones and the Mushy, Gushy Valentine

When Junie receives a mysterious Valentine from a fellow classmate she's up to her usual antics trying to solve the mystery. Your little ones will be in stitches as they get wrapped up in Junie B.'s precious world that is so relatable!

The Hundred Dresses

Written in 1945, this book has been a bestseller for children for decades. It's a beautiful story about the power of imagination, friendship and kindness and is a wonderful reminder to never underestimate the importance of kind words.

What are your favorite books to read for Valentine's Day? Wishing you and yours a very Happy Valentine's Day!
