Gardening with Kids: Getting Started with Easy Herbs

Last weekend, we had a lovely time as a family planting basil, mint, and sunflower seeds in our yard using our new Curious Gardener kit. Using Curious Chef cooking tools, we made a summer salad with peaches, burrata cheese, balsamic vinaigrette, and herbs from our garden.

The Present Game by Dana Sue Hinkle

The Present Game by Dana Sue Hinkle

Raise your hand if you have ever been embarrassed by your child’s behavior upon receiving a gift. This was me when one of my daughters turned six. Ugh. I cringe thinking about it. My sweet, kind, little girl turned into a demanding, greedy gremlin. Okay, maybe a little too harsh, but seriously. We were surrounded by her grandma, uncle, and a couple of neighbor families who all came by to wish her a happy birthday and bring her a gift. When she was given the first gift she tore into it with vigor, but she had no more than seen...

'Scrabbled Eggs' - A Fun Word Family Activity for Kids

'Scrabbled Eggs' - A Fun Word Family Activity for Kids

Transitioning to school at home is no easy feat for parents, trust us we know! Our philosophy is to try and make learning as hands on as possible for our kids. That's why we came up with this fun Easter themed word family activity.     All you need for this fun literacy activity is a set of StoryBricks, a baseplate (we used our StoryBricks Letter Board), and some plastic eggs. We took it a step further and put all of the activity contents in an Easter Basket just to add an extra touch of fun.     The 'Scrabbled Eggs'...

One strategy that always works for us it to have some toddler-friendly busy bags ready for the flight. Here are five of our kids favorites, all of which easily store in our Mini SlideAway®.     1. Some Simple Art Supplies Nothing too crazy here, but art supplies never fail to keep our littles entertained, especially when there is something new to explore. Those arrow post-its...

5 Simple Elf on the Shelf STEM Challenges

We've got some great ways to enjoy STEM challenges with your Elf on the Shelf this Christmas, all thanks to Lucy from @findthelittlemind. She's a Mom of two kids who loves to engage in creative play and hands on learning. We know our Elf will love these challenges too, especially seen as they are displayed on our StoryBricks Letter Board!     If you have an Elf currently residing on your shelf you will likely know all too well that they sometimes get up to mischief. Our Elf, lovingly and somewhat strangely, named Sasso (?!?!?!) by my then 3 year...
