These ladies have feeds which are bursting at the seams with ways to benefit your kids. Hannah from @californiatoddler spends her time whipping up wonderful snacks and meals for her toddler. Emily from @helloemilyarrow sings her way through the days with her enchanting children's music which incorporates songs and stories. Both of these ladies epitomize the Creative QT philosophy of Make Time Together. They know just how important it is to take the time to support children's growth and development every single day. We cannot wait to share this awesome idea they had to combine some family time in the kitchen with a super fun holiday play list! The recipe comes from Hannah, while the song's are from Emily's latest festive album called Wintertime Singalong.
What’s better than bonding over making and eating a delicious homemade crunchy chickpea snack during the holidays? We, Hannah from @californiatoddler and Emily from @helloemilyarrow, have teamed up to bring you a perfect snack and playlist to enjoy with your kids this winter! Crunchy Chickpeas Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cans of chickpeas (15oz cans)
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1/4 teaspoon of salt
Optional: spices, fresh herbs, or sweetener of choice (honey, sugar, or my new favorite: @justdatesyrup!)
Instructions and Playlist:
1) Pre-heat the oven to 400°F and place oven rack in the middle of the oven.
Song: "Christmas Time Is Here"
2) Rinse and drain the chickpeas.
Song: "Snowflakes & Jingle Bells"
3) Dry the chickpeas well or leave out to air-dry for a bit (best option if you have time)!
Songs: "The Polar Express" and "Little Red Sled"
4) Toss the chickpeas with the olive oil and salt.
Song: "Here In My House"
5) Spread the chickpeas out in an even layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Song: "Are We There, Yeti? Song"
6) Roast the chickpeas in the oven for about 30-40 min (shake them up every 10 mins).
Songs: keep these nice calm tunes playing while you wait for the chickpeas to cook and cool, you might even be treated to a snoozing little helper! "Smallest Gift of Christmas Song " and "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas".
7) Remove from oven, and if you'd like, toss the chickpeas with the optional spices, herbs, or sweetener. As I mentioned I'm totally hooked on adding @justdatesyrup!)
8) Let them cool off for a few minutes and serve warm!
Notes: The chickpeas are done when they're golden and slightly darkened. You're going for dry and crispy on the outside, and soft in the middle. Serve warm and crispy! Store in airtight container on the counter for up to 4 days!
Well we don't know about you, but we think we deserve to scoff another batch of crunchy chickpeas after all that dancing! Don't forget to check out the great album from Emily Arrow, "Wintertime Singalong!". Happy crooning and cooking!
