Who else loves three-day weekends!? There is nothing quite like Memorial Day weekend that screams HELLO SUMMER! :) How are you Making Time Together this weekend?
Today, we're sharing a round-up of some of our favorite family Memorial Day activities. If you're looking for a few activities to keep the kids busy this weekend, then keep on reading!
LEGO® American Flag Challenge: Challenge your kids to build an American flag out of their LEGO® collection. Once it's built, teach them about what the flag symbolizes. This blog post has some amazing kid-friendly facts and lessons about American history that is perfect for teaching this weekend.
Patriotic Rock Painting: This activity could not be easier ... and that's the main reason we love it. Send the kids out back to grab some rocks, grab blue, white and red paints, some brushes and let the loose! Let the kids paint the rocks to the heart's content ... we guarantee it'll keep them busy for a little while so you can get things done - or relax!
Say Thank You to Our Veterans: This is the whole reason we celebrate Veterans Day! We love this list of ways that you can actively teach your kids the importance of Memorial Day and engage them in saying thank you to our veterans.
Painted Lawn Stars: There is nothing more patriotic than painting red, white and blue stars ALL over your lawn! We LOVE this fun, creative idea from The Concrete Cottage. All you need is a star stencil, some spray paint and some kids willing to help and you'll have the most festive lawn in town.
Play OUTSIDE!: Set up the sprinkler, play musical chairs to patriotic music, go on a nature walk, have a picnic, roast s'mores on a campfire ... it doesn't really matter what you do, but get outside and build those memories!

Shared materials are a thing of the past this school year so we've been getting creative with ways to make individual learning resources with our products. In this blog we share how to use ourStoryBricks® andPeel 'n Stick Baseplates to turn a small $1 container into a multi-purpose learning box which fits conveniently inside a student's desk.
Hoping to give your kids a great play table to create on whilst also solving the never-ending problem of storing building bricks? We've got a great IKEA hack for you which ticks both play and storage boxes!
