As a family we prioritize Making Time Together. This often comes in the form of simply sitting down and playing together. One of our favorite ways to play is to get creative with building bricks. Here's a simple hack for DUPLO Play & Storage using our Peel 'n Stick DUPLO Compatible Baseplates.
Materials Needed:
- Creative QT Peel 'n Stick DUPLO Compatible Baseplates, green 2-pack costing $29.99, this project only requires one baseplate
- IKEA KUGGIS Storage Box and Lid, large size costing $14.99
- Large building bricks, such as DUPLOs
Instructions:
This is pretty easy to make! Simply peel off the baseplate backing and stick it to the top of the storage box lid. Then you just tip in the DUPLOs and get creative with your family! We love that there is no cutting and no glue required.
So why bother with a play & storage box? We find it helps us all to build together, using the baseplate as the family creation canvas.
We also find that it makes tidying up way easier!! Although we normally end up keeping the creations on display.
We like to use larger style bricks such as DUPLOs when we have family building nights simply because it makes the activity accessible for all the kids. Our youngest feels confident and included, whilst the eldest builder (yup that's Dad we are talking about!) still gets totally involved!
We'd love to hear what your favorite way to spend a family night together is. Does your family enjoy building bricks too?
