Cutting Peel 'n Stick Baseplates is very straightforward - making this DIY project not time consuming at all. Take a peek at the video for the full construction process, as well as some serious play action.
Cutting the Baseplates to Size:
Feel free to visit our full blog post advising How to Cut Peel 'n Stick Baseplates to Size. The important things to remember are to cut against a line of bricks and to use a sharp blade. Simply use a nail file or sandpaper to soften any rough or sharp edges if your cut isn't quite straight.
Time to Play!
This set up will be so inviting for your kids. Supply them with an exciting selection of LEGO or DUPLO style bricks. There are some great LEGO Friends sets available to buy which are bedroom-themed. We got Olivia's Deluxe Bedroom set as it had some fun bedroom parts such as a computer desk and swivel chair, as well as the all important coffee machine!
If your builders are less experienced you could always set up one room for them so that they get some fun ideas. They'll be no stopping them once they start designing and building.
Make Time Together by sitting and enjoying decorating the house with your kids. You can exchange interior design ideas, or challenge each other to deck out the bedrooms with all the latest fashionable accessories.
Trying to recreate furniture with building bricks is a great way to challenge your imagination. Here's a closer look at the interior of each room.
We love this project because it is so open-ended. Once the house is decorated, your kids can enjoy hours of play using LEGO mini figures as a family living in the house.
At any point they can also re-design the interior! Decorating the dollhouse can be a really fun way for your family to Make Time Together while enjoying some STEAM learning.

Arts and Bricks On
This post just made my entire day!!!! Our children are 6 and 8. They play a game they’ve dubbed, “The Lego Game” which is really a family/life/house game. They build sofas, hat racks, dog pens, tables, working bathrooms — you name it! Putting all their builds in an ACTUAL house is going to blow their minds! I’m so excited to give this as a Christmas gift. This is going to be their favorite gift for sure!!!! Maybe I’ll wind up giving it to the early!!!!! Thank you for sharing!
