DIY IKEA HACK! Building Brick Storage Box

Keeping all those building bricks contained can be a tough job for even the most organized of parents. We've got a super cute IKEA hack using the FLISAT Toy Storage Box with Casters and our Peel 'n Stick Baseplates - no cutting and no gluing required! Throw in your bricks, wheel over to the best play spot in the house, and build on the sides!

Materials Needed:

• Creative QT Peel 'n Stick Baseplates: We used a green two-pack, 10" x 10", $15.95
• IKEA FLISAT Toy Storage with Casters, $29.99
• Building bricks such as DUPLOs or LEGOs

Instructions:

The storage box itself is easy to assemble by following the IKEA instructions. You can choose from our range of beautiful baseplate colors to customize your brick box. We went for Green Peel 'n Stick Baseplates to match the wheels. If you want a super accurate placement, you can measure the baseplate position. We just 'eyeballed' the process.

We love how this box encourages collaborative play. Older and younger siblings can enjoy a building surface and easy access to the bricks, as well as building on the floor space around them.

We love how this project doubles up as storage and a cool mini vertical makerspace. Building on a vertical surface is great for supporting both creativity and fine and gross motor skill development.

Due to the wheels, this brick storage box also gives you the option to let your kids move their play to wherever they like. Whether they choose to get creative in the toy room, their bedroom, or even outside, they can keep their bricks decluttered and close by. Our kids also just loved the fact that they could push their bricks around the house without even stopping to build!

We think this building brick storage box looks so darling in our kids' bedroom due to the clean wood and green combination. It can be hard to find trendy ways to keep toys stored, but we think this project ticks that box!
