DIY DUPLO Compatible Carry Case

Have you got big travel plans this holiday season? Nervous of how to keep your kiddo entertained minus the constant screen time? Check out this easy-to-make DIY DUPLO Carry Case, the perfect gift for any building brick enthusiast!

Materials Needed:

- 1 x Creative QT Peel 'n Stick Baseplates, 10" x 20" Compatible with DUPLO style bricks
- Plastic carry case (we got ours from Michael's for less than $5)
- Selection of DUPLO building bricks (we used the My First All-in-One Box of Fun pack)

Start off by cutting one of your baseplates in half using a craft or utility knife. This should leave you with two smaller square baseplates. To help create a straight cut, line up some DUPLO bricks to run the blade along. Go over this initial cut line several times, applying reasonable pressure.

Next remove the DUPLO bricks and gently bend the baseplate until it snaps along the cut line. Don't be afraid to apply some pressure.

Now that you've got your two baseplates you can decide where you want to stick them. We went for one on top of the carry case, and the other on the underside of the lid. To stick them down, simply peel off the red backing and apply some pressure as you stick it to the carry case.

We just eyeballed this sticking process, but you can always measure for a more exact fit.

The reason we opted for one baseplate on the top and one on the inside lid is to give different building surfaces for kids to work on. The inside lid is great as all the bricks are contained in one spot. It also means that when your little one is done building, you can just fold up the case and keep their creation as they've left it.

Building on the top surface always offers a new perspective, with kids enjoying building 'super duper tall towers', and 'high up worlds'.
