DIY Christmas Eve Family Activity Boxes

Do you LOVE all things Christmas? Watching the sparkle in your kiddo's eyes as they wholeheartedly believe in the magic of the holidays is such a special time. There are so many fun traditions to help make Christmas a way for the whole family to Make Time Together. We'd love to share this fun tradition we have of giving your kids a Christmas Eve Box to help add even more excitement and spirit to the night before Christmas.

Materials Needed:

  • Decorative box (we got our Christmas suitcase from Michael's, but you can always get a plain box and decorate it yourself!)
  • Christmas pajamas (ours came from Carter's)
  • Christmas book
  • A fun movie for the family to watch
  • Popcorn
  • A sweet treat (we also included some vanilla maple treats for baby sister!)

The idea of the Christmas Eve Box is to simply bring the family together for an evening of festivities. We leave the box under the tree ready for the kids to find as a surprise. It's literally like Christmas has come early!!

The kids can change into their Christmas jammies (parents feel free to get matching pajamas too!). You can all snuggle up to a movie and munch away on popcorn. If your kiddos aren't too affected by sugar in the evening, maybe let them have a little sweet treat too. Top the evening off with a nice holiday themed story book at bedtime to complete the evening's entertainment.

Of course feel free to personalize the box. Perhaps you'd like to give each kid a special ornament to hang on the tree. You could include a coloring sheet that goes into a scrapbook each year. Maybe your family would prefer to stay screen free and play a board game instead of watching a movie. Whatever you think will work best for your family, just go for it! As long as it spreads Christmas cheer, anything goes!!

Today, while I was at work, my cousin stole
my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a twenty five foot drop, just so she can be
a youtube sensation. My iPad is now destroyed and she has
83 views. I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!
