Our Peel 'n Stick Baseplates can turn any table, wall, container etc. into an awesome building brick construction zone! Here are some of our favorite DIY Baseplate projects to date (click the links for full tutorials).
This is possibly our most epic project yet! We used an IKEA TROFAST Unit and storage boxes, and lots of baseplates! It combines LEGOs and DUPLOs, with horizontal and vertical building spaces. Best of all, it also keeps all building bricks neatly organized in drawers. Make sure you click the title to see the video and fun construction details!
Looking for something more compact and portable? Making your kids a building brick lap tray is simply a case of Peel, Stick & Play! Perfect for in the car or at home, your kids will love have a building base for their creations.
What an inviting play space this IKEA hack is! We took an IKEA FLISAT dollhouse, added some Peel 'n Stick Baseplates, and watched as our kids' (and Dad's) imaginations ran wild! We love how this set up provided so much role play and story telling for our kids.
Be sure to check out our mini version too, we turned Target dollar spot trinket shelves into DIY LEGO Compatible Play Houses.
Why not switch things up and challenge your littles to build on a vertical surface? We made this awesome LEGO Compatible Wall using plywood board, paint and 16 of our Peel 'n Stick Baseplates.
If you are not after such a big project, try out our simple IKEA MALA Easel Mini Makerspace hack. It's a great way to repurpose your easel and turn it into an exciting vertical building station.
5. Building Brick Travel Containers
If you've got a building brick fanatic, I'm sure you've had the hassle of trying to take bricks out to play with. We've used our Peel 'n Stick Baseplates on several different types of containers to try and make on-the-go building nice and easy. One of our favorite projects was when we made colorful His & Hers LEGO Compatible Containers.
We also converted some simple Container Store boxes into LEGO Compatible storage containers which are ideal for taking out to restaurants or for in the car.
We wanted to make sure our younger building brick fans weren't left out, so we added one of our larger studded baseplates to a scrap booking box from Michael's to make a fun DIY DUPLO Compatible Carry Case.
6. Building Brick Tables
We mustn't forget the most popular use of our Peel 'n Stick Baseplates- DIY building brick tables. No Glue Required! Simply peel the backing off and adhere the baseplate to the table! The Construction Grade Adhesive is designed to be permanently attached once secured and the baseplates can be easily cut to any size. Hence we can't help but keep turning tables into awesome building brick creation statins!
